Jemmett's Landing Thanksgiving Cruise

You are cordially invited to join us at Jemmett's Landing this upcoming Thanksgiving Long Weekend, for an outdoor turkey dinner with good friends, in what is likely our last chance of the season to sail together and get away as a group. Our plan is as follows:

Saturday 08 October 2011: Depart KYC at 11:00 and sail to Jemmett's Landing. Early evening wine and cheese on the property, followed by a campfire.

Sunday 09 October 2011: Thanksgiving Dinner at Jemmett's Landing, complete with turkey and the fixings, commencing about 1630. Campfire with Smores, and perhaps a nip of scotch to follow.

Monday 10 October 2011: Depart Jemmett's Landing on your own schedule to return to KYC.

Those who wish or prefer to join us by car at Jemmett's Landing are most welcome: it is about a 20 minute drive once off the Wolfe Island Ferry. Directions by road are available from the KYC office. There is now ample room to pitch a tent should you wish to spend the night.

Note: interest has been expressed to sail to Camelot Island on Saturday, then meet up with everyone else at Jemmett's Landing by early afternoon on Sunday. If you are interested in this option, and wish to be included with this group, please let me know!

The general idea is that Sunday Thanksgiving Dinner is a Pot Luck affair, and everyone who attends is asked to provide at least one dish towards dinner. Ze and I will be bringing two turkeys, lots of barbecue briquettes, starter, cranberry sauce, a vegetable dish and two large pumpkin pies. The oven on board Compulsion is available for use, as well. 

Everyone is encouraged to bring their children, dogs and swimming togs - for those of you brave enough to join Ze in her annual final swim in the lake. Usually the water temperature is still a comfortable 18 degrees at this time of year!

We offer to bring our Zodiac, for those who may prefer to stay on a mooring ball. Otherwise, expect to raft off the dock at the Club Property.
